Fire services do not all perform the same functions around Europe. One key difference is the extent to which firefighters also provide emergency medical care. In recent years Fire Services have been under pressure to reform and with evidence from some countries of a shift to more work on prevention and the provision of advice and information. As a first step in understanding what’s happening EPSU affiliates have provided an indication of the main responsibilities of the Fire Services in their country.
